For people with cancer, their families and carers
About Cancer Trials Made Clear
Cancer Trials Made Clear helps you explore UK cancer clinical trials and bring questions to the people involved in your care.
I’m Brendon Coster. I built Cancer Trials Made Clear while helping my wife navigate cancer, because finding and understanding trial information was harder than it should be. This is an independent project built with patients and carers in mind. Finding trial information can be difficult when you are already dealing with a diagnosis. The aim is to make that first step easier: find study records, understand what to check, and keep useful information together.
What you can do here
Search by cancer type, a test result from your cancer report, treatment name or trial number. Check the locations and recruitment status listed by the study team, read the original eligibility wording and save records to a shortlist. You can share a shortlist or print it for an appointment.
Cancer Trials Made Clear is free to use and does not require an account. Read the guide to searching and saving trials.
Where the trial information comes from
The search combines records from ClinicalTrials.gov and the ISRCTN registry. Study teams and sponsors supply their records. Each result links to its original source and shows dates where they are available.
Other organisations, including Cancer Research UK and NIHR Be Part of Research, are linked as places to explore separately. Their listings are not imported into our search results. Some records also link to supporting Health Research Authority information. Naming a source does not mean that it endorses or partners with Cancer Trials Made Clear.
What a search result can tell you
A result is a study to investigate, not confirmation that you can join. Marker names can appear in exclusion rules as well as entry requirements. A trial listed as recruiting may not have a place at a particular hospital. Records can change, be incomplete or use wording that a search misses.
Cancer Trials Made Clear does not make treatment recommendations or assess medical eligibility. Its own explanatory wording has not yet had independent clinical review. Your treating team and the trial team can help you check the original record and discuss whether an option is relevant.
Cookies, analytics and privacy
We do not use advertising trackers or analytics scripts on this site, and the app does not set tracking cookies. Your shortlist uses browser storage. Cloudflare hosts and protects the site and may process technical request data; the registries and Postcodes.io have their own privacy practices.
Saved records stay in your browser. Shared links contain public trial numbers and may reveal a health interest. Search terms are sent to the selected registries. Optional postcode lookups use Postcodes.io, and your entered postcode is not included in shortlist links. Avoid entering names or private report details into a search.
