How Cancer Trials Made Clear can help

Start with what you know

Choose a cancer type, or search for a trial or treatment name. You can leave the other filters as they are.

Save trials for later

Save a trial to your shortlist. It stays in this browser so you can come back when you’re ready.

Prepare for an appointment

Print your shortlist and questions to discuss at an appointment. The care team can help you understand whether a trial may be suitable.

Choose a stage

Not sure? You can leave this on all stages.

Refine your search

Choosing a stage helps narrow your search. The care team and trial team will still need to check who can take part.

What is a trial phase?

A phase describes a step in testing a treatment. It is not a cancer stage or a promise of benefit.

  • Phase 1: studies dose and side effects.
  • Phase 2: looks for signs that a treatment works and continues to check side effects.
  • Phase 3: compares approaches in a larger study.
  • Phase 4: studies a treatment after approval.

Some studies combine phases; others do not have a treatment phase.

Hospitals and distance

Distances are approximate straight-line estimates, not journey times. Location filters apply to loaded results. ISRCTN usually does not report recruitment status for individual sites.

Search coverage & availability

Searches start with up to 50 records per registry. Use Load more trials to continue. Each trial shows its source.
